Utah’s Mysterious Monolith
A giant metal monolith, ala 2001: A Space Odyssey, was discovered in the southeastern corner of the Utah desert in the middle of nowhere. The mysterious, shiny, metallic slab was spotted by a Utah Department of Public Safety (DPS) crew on a wildlife assistance mission to help count bighorn sheep in the area.
Once photos of the monolith were posted online, it didn’t take long for theories to spread across social media. They ranged from an alien sighting to work from a local artist. The DPS said it is illegal to install structures or art on federally managed public lands without authorization, no matter what planet you’re from.
