Back To Future Predicts 9/11

Did the wildly popular film series, Back to the Future, bring us a forewarning of 9/11?

The following video, courtesy of 99Percent, paints an elaborate and scintillating picture of the eerie coincidences depicted in the film and the 9/11 tragedy, from the Muslim terror attack at the Twin Pine Mall (Twin Towers), to the mall’s clock that is set on 9:11 when turned upside down, to the 9/11 imagery on Main Street in fictional Hill Valley, Calif., when Marty escapes back to the future.

The video also suggests a connection between film director Robert Zemeckis and the reference to 9/11. Back to the Future was released in October 1985, while another Zemeckis production, The WalK, debuted 30 years later in October 2015. Remember when Doc asks Marty about the letter warning him of the terror attack? Marty replies, “You’ll find out in 30 years.” Here’s the report.

Las Vegas Monolith Gone

After nearly a week on display on the Fremont Street Experience in downtown Las Vegas, the mysterious monolith has vanished. Well, sort of.

Las Vegas video blogger Para-Sara reports that five days after appearing in front of the Circa Resort & Casino on Friday, Dec. 4, it was gone on Dec. 9. Funny thing is, similar to its arrival, there’s no video of its disappearance, lending yet another eerie chapter to the invasion of monoliths around the planet.

Not so fast, says Para-Sara, who claims to have debunked the mystery. She says a young lady who worked on Fremont Street told her the monolith story was basically a publicity stunt. She said it was created by local artists and originally placed by Atomic Liquors, southwest of Fremont Street, then moved by her personal friend in front of the Circa. Her friend was also responsible for dismantling the monolith, she says.

On Day 3 of the monolith in Las Vegas, Call Me Stormy paid a visit to its Fremont Street Experience location to check it out. The object was a mirrored, three-sided slab, which drew several visitors, all with different opinions on its existence. One lady was adamant that it came from a higher power and spent several minutes praying to the structure. An elderly tourist said she heard that nobody saw it being installed, in spite of all the cameras in the mall. Then she noticed, “Look, someone already dented it.”

Erick Rogers, New York City transplant and employee with the Vegas Welcome Center, said it was just another marketing campaign, probably from Circa management. “There’s not much traffic at this end, that why they placed down here,” he said. “Plus, a lot of the homeless use it as a mirror to tidy up.”

Circa employee Craig Gerson was more befuddled. “Don’t know who put it up,” he said. “It reminds me of 2001: A Space Odyssey. But it’s great. I love it.”

Similar monoliths have appeared in southeastern Utah, Central California and Romania. And there’s been an unconfirmed report of monoliths showing up on Native American reservations around the country.

Meanwhile, Para-Sara says all the evidence surrounding the mystery points to a clever publicity stunt, at least in Vegas. There’s speculation that Fremont Street casino icon, Derek Stevens, who owns the Circa and the popular D Casino & Hotel, was behind the campaign. But the question remains, why was there no video of the monolith appearing, then vanishing out of thin air? As always, you be the judge.

Utah Monolith Vanishes

The mysterious silver monolith has vanished, seemingly as quickly as it appeared over a week ago in a remote desert in southeastern Utah. After the monolith was discovered, adventurers flocked to the desert to see the otherworldly 12-foot-tall metal column.

Riccardo Marino was one of the first people to realize it was gone. “We noticed tire tracks from some kind of dolly or wheelbarrow that was hauling it out,” Marino says. All that was left at the site is the monolith’s base plate.

The column looked straight out of 2001: A Space Odyssey and drew an avalanche of conspiracy theories from visiting aliens, local art work and even something sinister from the mob.

BREAKING NEWS: Another monolith similar to the one that appeared in the Utah desert last month, mysteriously popped up on iconic Fremont Street in downtown Las Vegas. The slab was strategically placed near the entrances to the Golden Nugget Casino and the newly opened Circa.

Unlike the Utah monolith, the Vegas version appears to be a prism made with a highly reflective surface. Shockingly, two more monoliths have appeared in Central California and Romania.

Utah’s Mysterious Monolith

A giant metal monolith, ala 2001: A Space Odyssey, was discovered in the southeastern corner of the Utah desert in the middle of nowhere. The mysterious, shiny, metallic slab was spotted by a Utah Department of Public Safety (DPS) crew on a wildlife assistance mission to help count bighorn sheep in the area.

Once photos of the monolith were posted online, it didn’t take long for theories to spread across social media. They ranged from an alien sighting to work from a local artist. The DPS said it is illegal to install structures or art on federally managed public lands without authorization, no matter what planet you’re from. DPS says it will not reveal the location of the structure. Here’s more from CF-apps7865.

Dark Star

Today’s Trillion $ Movie, Dark Star, was the debut feature for two filmmakers who later became Hollywood heavyweights — director John (Halloween) Carpenter and screenwriter Dan (Alien) O’Bannon. This bizarre, low-budget sci-fi comedy from 1974 has amassed a well-deserved cult reputation over the years. Never has a beach ball appeared so ominous on the big screen!

The film follows a group of what appear to be bored and stoned astronauts on a far-out mission. They cruise the fringes of the galaxy, bombing the smithereens out of unstable planets that are going rogue, careening out of orbit and thus posing a threat to Earth’s space colonies. Recent talk of NASA dispatching a crew to lasso threatening asteroids brought this picture to mind. If the NASA scientists are as lackadaisical as these surfing fools, we better batten down the hatches and prepare to be bombarded!

You can certainly trace the origins of Alien here, but also fun references to 2001: A Space Odyssey and other sci-fi classics.  Some critics have carped about the cheesy special effects, the wacky uniforms and dingbat music, but hey, what can you expect from two young filmmakers working on a $55,000 budget?  That’s O’Bannon, by the way, playing Sgt. Pinback and Carpenter delivering the vocals for Talby. At least they seem to have enjoyed themselves immensely making the movie, and it’s often a hoot to watch. The late Roger Ebert called it “wry, laid back and fond of its situations.” Enjoy and do return again next Friday for another Trillion $ Movie.
