5 ERCOT Board Members Resign
Five board members of Texas grid operator ERCOT abruptly and jointly resigned in the aftermath of last week’s massive power outages. In a joint letter to the board, the outgoing members said they were resigning, “to allow state leaders a free hand with future direction and to eliminate distractions.”
Translation: They want to give state government complete control of all future ERCOT matters. Not a good thing, says Riss Flex. In addition, ERCOT drew concern from the public regarding out-of-state board leadership, including some of the resigning board members who did not live in Texas. Also not a good thing. Says Flex, “I’m personally not a big fan of big government controlling businesses. I don’t think that’s the government’s place. Let’s just hope they have the best interest in mind of Texans.” Here’s more analysis with Flex.
