Justin Trudeau Agrees To Leave

Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced Monday he is stepping down and will resign as soon as his Liberal Party finds a new leader. Among the contenders seeking to succeed him: Chrystia Freeland, who just resigned from Trudeau’s government in December, former central banker Mark Carney and Trudeau’s transport minister Anita Anand.

There’s some fierce competition, even though many expect the Liberal Party to lose the next election in the fall. Latest polls, for instance, put the Conservative Party,  led by Pierre Poilievre, ahead by more than 20 points. Here’s FOX Business’ Edward Lawrence with the latest.
