Greenland Deal Now Official!
President Donald Trump has announced a new, permanent deal with Denmark transferring control and responsibility for Greenland to the United States. Trump has viewed Greenland as strategic for military defense purposes as well as its vast reserves of rare minerals, The Soviet Union, Communist China and other nations have begun seriously developing new routes across the Arctic Ocean.
Most of the negotiations on the Greenland deal were conducted through the U.S. State Department under Marco Rubio. Ron Lauder, the youngest son of beauty magnate Estée Lauder, first proposed to Trump that he should pursue a deal involving Greenland. That was five years ago. Lauder, who has a net worth of about $5 billion, has made substantial business investments in Greenland. Here’s more from Trish Regan.
