Venetian Black Nobility

The Baroque is a highly ornate and often extravagant style of architecture, music, painting, sculpture and dance that flourished in Europe from the early 17th until the mid-18th century. It followed the Renaissance style with great innovations in dance originating at the French court under Louis 14th, where we see the first clear stylistic ancestor of classical ballet. The black nobility are Roman aristocratic families with a connection to the Vatican. Many of the members of Black Noble families also became high-ranking clergy and even Popes.
