James Madison On Immigration
Michael Boldin, host of The Tenth Amendment Center, harkens back in time to share his thoughts on James Madison and his take on immigration.
Boldin says Madison, the “father of our Constitution,” believed in a path of delegated and reserved powers over immigration that’s far different than what almost everyone views today. “That’s not to say that his view is the conclusive view over the Constitution because he’s one guy,” Boldin says. “But if Madison is right, almost everyone today is wrong.” He explains further, including dissecting Madison’s definition of an alien in the then colony of Virginia.
