The Next Chernobyl?
UK officials are adamant that the Hinkley Point C Power Plant, under construction in Somerset, England, is a strategic move for the economy and a step forward.
Their rationale is that nuclear power being non-intermittent, like solar and wind, Hinkley Point is a viable green option that will achieve the long-range zero-emissions goal and reduce reliance on imported gas.
In the following video, Enzymemedia points out that the project’s expense, which is expected to reach 50-billion pounds, does not justify its construction and will lead to significant living expenses and a monopoly by power -hungry corporations.
The French and Chinese firms involved in the construction are reportedly shielded from any repercussions if the project fails to meet expectations or leads to disastrous outcomes. Could we possibly be witnessing the next Chernobyl in the near future? More from Enzymemedia.
