USS Liberty False Flag Attack
False flag attacks have often spurred American involvement in global wars, such as the Gulf of Tonkin that spurred the Vietnamese Conflict. In the same category we can now include the false flag assault on the USS Liberty on June 8 1967 during the Six-Day War.
