Twelve-year-old BridgeAnne d’Avignon did the impossible and traced nearly all U.S. presidents back to one man–England’s King John Lackland Plantagenet, who signed the Magna Carta in 1215!

The Salinas, Calif., resident says all U.S. presidents, with the exception of Martin Van Buren, were linked to the English monarch. She began her research as a school project, centering on George Washington, but wanted to branch out. Unlike many genealogists, she used both male and female ancestry lines to secure her results.
