The Origin Of COVID-19
This is the story of the SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes novel coronavirus disease, including COVID-19. The first human coronaviruses were identified in the mid-1960s, though it would not be until 2003 for first serious virus to emerge in China, known as the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome, or SARS. This was followed by an outbreak in Saudi Arabia called the Middle East Respiratory Syndrome, or MERS.
