China’s Ruse Backfires
The Chinese state-run media tells us that its country has been at the forefront of the coronavirus pandemic, sharing experiences and aiding other countries with supplies and equipment. In other words, China proclaims it has taken the leadership role in saving the world. But can we believe such nonsense?
Surprisingly, the Chinese Communist Party’s ruse almost succeeded in covering up allegations that they created a deadly disease pandemic that’s killing people and destroying economies around the world. Almost. But reports are now surfacing that the donations of supplies and equipment came with strings attached.
Axios and The New York Times reported that China demanded praise in exchange for medical supplies and went as far as to ask other countries to make positive statements about how they handled the COVID-19 pandemic.
