Ilhan Omar Lawyers Up
Ilhan Omar has lawyered up, hiring the attorney who helped out Joe Biden with his autopen scandal. Amy Jeffress, a partner at boutique DC firm Hecker Fink, became Biden’s personal attorney in 2025, succeeding longtime confidant Bob Bauer. Omar has hired her, as well as Joshua Matz, also a partner at Hecker Fink, who represented House Democrats during both Trump impeachments and served on the legal team of the House Jan. 6. committee.
There’s more talk Omar might have to resign from her seat in the U.S. House while defending her personal finances and immigration status. Trish Regan says the case might be about a lot of issues beyond immigration fraud. Ilhan’s brother Ahmed Elmi– who she supposedly wed — has now been exposed as a gay man.
Here’s more from Regan, who also gets into the growing controversy surrounding Abdul El-Sayed, the Democratic candidate for the U.S. Senate in the state of Michigan. A string of meltdown have Michigan voters questioning his stability.
