Latka Revives Elvis

Nerdy Andy Kaufman makes an incredible transformation into Elvis Presley on this sojourn into the lighter side of life. Appearing on “The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson” in 1977, Kaufman opens the skit as the foreign character Latka, which he made famous in the “Taxi” sitcom.

The Abominable Dr. Boombatz

Dr. Vinnie Boombatz, the awful physician made famous in Rodney Dangerfield’s stand-up performances, is portrayed in this skit by the inimitable Andy Kaufman as we trek to the lighter side of life. “I tell you, with my doctor, I don’t get no respect,” Dangerfield says. “I told him I’d swallowed a bottle of sleeping pills. He told me to have a few drinks and get some rest.”

Andy Kaufman: Dead or Alive?

Andy Kaufman, arguably one of the greatest comedians of his time, died in 1984 of lung cancer. Or did he? A lady claiming to be Kaufman’s daughter says he’s alive and well performing duties as a stay-at-home dad. “What if it’s not a prank.
