The Power Of One-Liners

A flurry of one-liner comedians bursts into the lighter side of life this week with their quick wit, featuring such comedic stalwarts as Steven Wright, Mitch Hedberg, the immortal Rodney Dangerfield and many others.

Says Wright, “My theory of evolution is that Charles Darwin was adopted!” And the inimitable Rodney Dangerfield counters with, “I met a sexy girl a few weeks ago, worked in a restaurant making hamburgers. She told me she could make a Big Boy in three minutes and boy big in two minutes.” Here’s more in this episode of Laugh Planet.

Why Elites Sneer At Trump

In the most recent Gallup Poll, not usually kind to Donald J. Trump, the president’s approval rating soared to 49 percent. This on the heels of a record, booming economy, the complete rebuilding of our military and major accomplishments in the judiciary branch, among other promises kept.

But like the Rodney Dangerfield character in the movie Caddy Shack, Trump gets no respect. No matter how well he does for the nation, the elites still sneer at him and his alleged uncouth demeanor. Radio talk-show host Larry Elder takes a whimsical look at how the elites–fueled by the dishonest media–continue their never-ending assault on Trump and his supporters in this edition of The Larry Elder Show.

Classic Rodney Dangerfield

Legendary comedian Rodney Dangerfield brings the house down with a performance from his DVD special “I Can’t Take It No More.” Says Dangerfield, “My wife, she drives me nuts. She’s afraid of the dark, she saw me naked, now she’s afraid of the light.” But in a more somber mood, he adds, “I tell you, I shouldn’t tell jokes about my wife. She’s attached to a machine that keeps her alive–the refrigerator!” Check out the rest of his skit for more laughs, and come right back here to LOL next Tuesday for another dose of the lighter side of life. — The Wickel

Now That’s An Insult!

Nothing can bring your blood to a boil quicker than an insult assailing your character–whether giving it or receiving it. Following are the 100 Greatest Movie Insults of All Time, including the King of Putdowns Rodney Dangerfield in Caddy Shack, when he approaches an elderly lady eating dinner in the clubhouse and says, “Hey, baby, you’re alright, you must have been something before electricity.”

Complementing Dangerfield are an animated John Wayne in Rooster Cogburn, John Candy in Uncle Buck, and arguably the most devastating insult on the silver screen of all time–Clark Gable’s classic line in Gone With the Wind: “Frankly my dear, I don’t give a damn.” Because of strong language in some scenes, viewer discretion is advised.
