Lifer Bureaucrats the Problem
University of Tennessee law professor and part-time columnist Glenn Reynolds’ recent article in USA Today suggests that lifer bureaucrats are the problem in Washington. His article, titled “Washington’s Culture of Corruption Rots On,” is an indictment of the liberal civil service agenda. “The big government designs of Democrats and the federal bureaucracy are aligned, and the bureaucracy often deploys its powers in ways calculated to frustrate Republican presidents and protect Democratic ones.” Case in point was the IRS scandal, where the federal agency was alleged to have denied Tea Party non-profit organizations tax-exempt status (501c3) while regularly granting it to left-leaning organizations. The scandal recently reached its 1,000-day milestone with nary a conviction or even a slap on the hand. The “Trifecta” crew of Bill Whittle, Scott Ott and Stephen Green weigh in on Reynolds allegations in this edition of PJTV.
