Mailing It In
On a recent trip to the local post office in Sherman Oaks, California, political commentator Bill Whittle walked in with a large amount of unmetered packages and expected the worst. But he was pleasantly surprised. First off, Whittle says he was astonished that every teller position was manned and the employees courteous. Imagine that in this day and age of crankiness.
Furthermore, Whittle says, “The line kept moving, and since it was late in the day, they closed the doors, worked through the line and then the rest of the tellers divided up the rest of the packages I had and I stood there, the only customer in a United States Post Office. And I said, ladies and gentlemen, please forgive me for saying this but I’ve been coming to post offices for almost 50 years now and I have never been waited on by four people at the same time.”
Tune in for the conclusion of Whittle’s sojourn to the post office in this edition of “Afterburner” on PJTV.
