Bill Whittle and the “Right Angle” crew dig into the odd circumstances surrounding a raging fire that damaged significant sections of I-10 in Los Angeles, one of the cities major traffic arteries.
No, it wasn’t an exploding engine or car crash that ignited the blaze. It was the freeway itself that caught fire, due to the significant amount of tinder that city government allowed to accumulate under the roadway.
“The freeway caught fire to the degree to where it is no longer structurally sound and will be out of commission indefinitely,” Whittle says. “This is going to require rebuilding significant miles of interstate.” More with Whittle and colleagues, Stephen Green and Scott Ott.
