Facebook’s Censorship Tools

Laura Chen examines the various tools and methods that Facebook uses to censor conservatives and conservative groups. Her report is based on new Project Veritas findings that show “existing strategies taken to combat political speech.” A Facebook insider provided much of the original documentation underscoring how the social media platform conducts bald-faced censorship. What’s becoming clear: Probably time to get off Facebook or use it much less often.

Project Veritas says Facebook has confirmed the “deboosting” occurs and called its release an investigatory journalism stunt. Here is the response from James O’Keefe.

Mark Dice explains in greater detail how Facebook tagged the popular conservative pages with internal tags so the company could secretly drive down the outreach for the pages.  In other words, Facebook is not “censoring” the conservatives outright but throttling them and trying to squelch and stymie communication. How about a raspberry up your ass, Mark Zuckerberg.

Styxhexenhammer666 says the worst aspects of the Facebook manipulations mirror “Animal Farm bullshit, it’s total 1984 bullshit.” No wonder Facebook is a dying platform.

Finally, James O’Keefe discusses this case Saturday at CPAC, the annual conference of the Conservative Political Action Conference. The woman who leaked the information was fired by Facebook. She attended CPAC and drew a standing ovation from the audience.

Styxhexenhammer666 — a resident of Vermont — says he’s grateful Brookyln Bernie launched his Socialist campaign from his real home in New York City.  And not in Vermont. Says Styx, “Thank goodness, leave us out of your stupidity.”

Sanders, Harris Pull Ahead

The 2020 presidential election is a long way off and the Democrats have scores of interested candidates, so it’s tough to gauge who will be their most likely frontrunners. But Dick Morris is a longtime political expert, and he’s going out on a limb early to make some predictions. He believes the two most likely frontrunners for the Democrats are Sen. Bernie Sanders, D-Vt., and Sen. Kamala Harris, D-Calif. Former Vice President Joe Biden is making some noise about entering the race, but is likely to fall back and behind, even if he runs, says Morris.

The Truth About CPAC

Vincent James returns from CPAC (the Conservative Political Action Conference) and offers his critique. In general, he seems to have enjoyed the conference, saying he connected with many politicians to push his number one issue — the banning and belittlement of conservatives on social media platforms including Twitter, Facebook and YouTube. But James also raises some criticisms such as why did CPAC ban so many actual conservatives while welcoming and even inviting Leftist activists.

Also, except for Michelle Malkin, most of the speakers failed to address the issue that bothers most conservatives the most, namely, unfettered immigration. CPAC needs to be more receptive to actual conservatives, and spend less time trying to buddy up with the enemy or big corporate sponsors.

Science That Nobody Believed

Before the advent of modern medicine and advanced technology, many folks had trouble understanding hypotheses put forward by scientists that usually had merit but were still disclaimed. “Science isn’t a straighforward path to answers about ourselves or the universe,” says SciShow host Hank Green. “And sometimes hypotheses hold up decades after they were dismissed.” In this episode, Green features five brilliant scientists and their ideas that nobody believed.
