Ottawa Dumping Trump Avenue
Ottawa — the capital city of Canada — has decided to rename its Trump Avenue in response to Trump calling for Lake Ontario to be renamed Lake America. The street will remain Trump Avenue through the balance of this year while a committee chooses a new name.
This comes as relations between the two countries have soured. Not only has there been squabbling over place names, but also tariffs and political preferences.
Trump, for instance, just moved to eliminate temporary protected status for thousands of Haitian refugees in the United States.
