Hitler’s Behind the Bombing

The news media has espoused some truly bizarre theories regarding the possible motives of the Boston Marathon bombers. But NPR Correspondent Dina Temple-Raston takes the cake by citing all the reasons that righties love terrorizing Americans in April, not the least of which — to observe Adolf Hitler’s birthday!

Boston Suspects Identified

Police early this morning apprehended one of two suspects in the Boston Marathon bombing case. The second suspect remained at large following a shootout in Watertown, a Boston suburb about four miles away from the bombing site.

Police identified the suspects as Dzhokhar and Tamerlan Tsarnaev, ethnic Chechen brothers from Dagestan, which neighbors Chechnya in southern Russia. Tamerlan, wearing the black hat in the Marathon photos released earlier Thursday by the FBI, apparently died following the gun battle with officers, Boston Police Commissioner Ed Davis confirmed. There were unconfirmed reports that he died from a suicide bomb strapped to his chest that he detonated upon his arrest. He was pronounced dead at Mt. Auburn Hospital, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds as well as blast wounds to his trunk.

Dzhokhar, wearing the white hat in the FBI photos, had not been apprehended as of 4 am Eastern time, but police had established a 20-block perimeter around Watertown and were undertaking an extensive manhunt to find him.

Watertown residents reported hearing gunfire as well as explosions through the night. The chaos began shortly after 10 pm when the two suspects reportedly shot and killed a police officer on the campus of Massachusetts Institute of Technology. They subsequently carjacked a Mercedes SUV in Cambridge, leading police on a wild chase through Watertown that ended in the firefight. The suspects were said to have been armed with machine guns and explosive devices. Here’s one report from Watertown.

Police scanner chatter from Watertown. Residents were being advised to remain in their homes as fears persisted that the suspects might have planted makeshift bombs. A cache of detonator wires were found, and police dispatched robots to scour for devices.

Media Descends Slippery Slope

Not only your garden-variety Leftists, but also many in the media have come unhinged, openly hoping that the Boston Marathon suspects prove to be white, right-wing extremists. Greg Gutfeld on Fox News’ The Five addresses those choosing to politicize the tragedy. The fact is: At this point in time, we do not know whether those responsible were deranged lone wolves, left or right-wing terrorists, or belonged to some domestic or international front. Until more is uncovered, it’s premature to be jumping to conclusions.

Politicizing the Bombings

MSNBC wasted no time on Monday in jumping to conclusions and fingering homegrown American conservatives as the most likely culprits behind the explosions that rocked the Boston Marathon, killing at least three and injuring more than 175 spectators.  In a matter of a few hours, without citing a shred of evidence to support his claim, pundit Chris Matthews speculated, “Normally domestic terrorists, people, tend to be on the far right.” He then reconsidered and suggested, “…That’s not a good category, just extremists, let’s call them that.”
