“Alexa” Joins Amazon Board

Keith Alexander, former director of the National Security Agency, has joined the board of directors for Amazon. When Alexander headed the NSA, it became embroiled in global controversy over charges it conducted mass unlawful surveillance. Edward Snowden, the whistleblower who exposed that surveillance, says, “It turns out ‘Hey Alexa,’ is short for ‘Hey, Keith Alexander.'”
