Borat On Politics

British comedian Sacha Baron Cohen, aka Borat, drops into the lighter side of life with an elaborate prank on the Pima County Republican Party in Arizona.

Borat, introduced by the chairwoman as someone who wants to learn the American political system, has the group scratching their heads and rolling their eyes after meandering off topic, including calling for a 10-minute moment of silence for something they know nothing about! Is Sacha Baron Cohen Racist?

Actor and comedian Sacha Baron Cohen is best know for his quirky, often garish character creations like Bruno, Ali G, and, of course, Borat. He’s also known for his insufferable moralizing and apparent disdain for conservatism. How ironic, then, that social justice advocacy groups are push for his latest project, ‘Borat Subsequent Moviefilm’, to be excluded from contention for Hollywood’s most prestigious awards. Why? These groups allege the film is racist. So, is this just another disproportionate reaction from activists? Or is the film actually, you know…racist? More from Daisy Cousens.
