Another View on the Wall

Titus Frost is a Trump supporter, but he says building a wall across the southern border of the United States makes no sense at all. Instead, Frost proposes transferring more of the military to patrol the border, and encouraging more immigration, but only involving potential residents of whom we approve. In his latest video, Frost roasts the satanist witch Madonna. He also discusses the scary term “demographics,” showing how the population curve created by the baby boomers actually requires the USA to bring in immigration, unless the 4th Industrial Revolution makes workers obsolete.

John Green, of Mental Floss, returns with 33 quirky facts about colleges for all you trivia junkies. Among the most interesting facts: Did you know that Ohio University is considered the most haunted university? Green says, “There’s even a closed dorm room–No. 428 in Wilson Hall–because it’s allegedly haunted by a girl who practiced witchcraft and died there.” Check out the other 32 fun facts about our colleges and unviersities.

Africa’s Internet Scammers

Fraudsters in West Africa show Vice how they use internet scams to steal thousands of dollars from unsuspecting victims all over the globe.

While Nigeria’s 401 scammers may have written the book on West African internet fraud, their shtick looks like Compuserve compared to what’s going on in Ghana. Unsatisfied with the meager winnings from emailing thousands of random Westerners in hopes of convincing one poor sap they’re the treasurer of the Ivory Coast, Ghana’s scammers decided to stack the odds in their favor the old-fashioned way—witchcraft.

Taking a page from cyberpunk, traditional West African Juju priests adapted their services to the needs of the information age and started leading down-on-their-luck internet scammers through strange and costly rituals designed to increase their powers of persuasion and make their emails irresistible to greedy Americans. And so “Sakawa” was born.
