British Concessions to Islam

Islam has attempted for countless centuries to wipe out European nations and cultures. If the current campaign succeeds, you can chalk up the capitulation to political correctness and a misguided form of multicultural liberalism, as this report from Great Britain underscores. H/T Moonbattery

Hijabs: Mandatory Headgear

An Islamic College has threatened to dismiss its non-Muslim female staff if they don’t wear headscarves. The new dress policy imposed by the Adelaide school has exposed a gray area in Australia’s discrimination laws.

France Deports Jihadist Clerics

Paris is taking steps to deport several radical Muslim clerics. The French government accuses the clerics of promoting radical Islam and inciting young French citizens to commit violence as part of a movement towards ‘global jihad.’ France has become a bigger target since it sent troops to drive Islamic terrorists out of Mali.

They’re Going Home

Britons breathe a sigh of relief after their rescue from an Algerian gas plant where they were taken hostage by Islamic extremists. Algerian state media reported Friday that about 660 captives had been freed, including 560 Algerians and 100 foreign nationals. But there were still 30 or more foreign nationals unaccounted for, either trapped inside or killed by the 30 militants who stormed the complex. The plant is operated as a joint venture by Sonatrach, the Algerian state oil company; Britain’s BP and Norway’s Statoil. H/T Blazing Cat Fur

Al Qaeda-linked militants captured considerable ground this week in the African nation of Mali, forcing the French to launch air strikes to push back the insurgents. Three Algerian diplomats held hostage by suspected Islamist militants in Mali have appealed to their government to secure their release. The three men are among seven diplomats seized in April while working at the Algerian consulate in Gao in northern Mali. Gao is part of a swath of territory in northern Mali now under the control of Tuareg-led separatists.

Islamists Want Global Caliphate

Ismail Al-Wahwah, spokesman for Hizb ut-Tahrir in Australia, predicts the establishment of a global Islamic caliphate, with Sharia laws enforced around the world and Arabic taught in every school, other “foreign” languages allowed only in universities.

Founded in 1953, Hizb ut-Tahrir is a Sunni, pan-Islamic political party with chapters in some 40 countries. The group argues against democracy, and believes non-Muslims should be treated as second-class citizens, unable to hold office or to vote. In the West, Hizb ut-Tahrir is particularly active in Great Britain, with a growing presence in North America. H/T MEMRI TV

French Rally Behind Free Speech

The French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo — which is already famous internationally for publishing cartoons of the Muslim prophet Mohammed — has declared its intention to publish an educational comic book biography of the life of Islam’s founder. The announcement is the latest satirical shot fired in an ongoing international battle over the boundaries of free speech. It’s a battle being fought between Islamic fundamentalists and liberal Western societies.

Islamists Target Vaccine Makers

Polio remains endemic in only three nations around the world — Afghanistan, Nigeria and Pakistan. But efforts to eradicate the disease in Pakistan have hit a brick wall, as radical Islamists have begun to systematically assassinate vaccine makers. Apparently, the Taliban-aligned killers believe that the vaccine makers from the United Nations are part of a front engaged in espionage operations.
