High Taxes Have Consequences

Republicans are now debating renewing tax cuts. Reminds me of when I interviewed Donald Trump 15 years ago, after dumb New York pols raised taxes on the rich.

Trump practically shouted, “The rich people are going to leave, and other people are going to leave!” “You haven’t left,” I say. “I haven’t left yet,” he answers.

Of course, now Trump has left New York. And lots of big taxpaying people left states like New York and California. This John Stossel “Classic” from 2010 examines the consequences of high taxes.

Democrats Killing U.S. Cities

Since the coronavirus lockdown, people have been fleeing cities in droves. With crime rates rising, businesses shutting down and poor sanitation, why stick around when you can work from anywhere?

Political talk radio host Andrew Wilkow argues that the China virus lockdown was merely the final straw. It was only a matter of time before Democrat policies made cities like New York, uninhabitable for the average American. Once taxes hit a certain level while the quality of life declines, the vibrance and convenience of a major city loses its appeal. Here’s more of Wikow’s analysis on Blaze TV.
