The word chimera is no longer associated with science fiction, whereas in Greek mythology it was defined as a fire-breathing female monster with a lion’s head, a goat’s body and a serpent’s tail. It has become a scientific reality in today’s world with such monstrosities as hybrid viruses spliced together in a bio lab, such as COVID-19, and even human-animal hybrids, where stem cells are inserted into animal eggs to fertilize a mutant embryo.

These covert experiments have been carried out for decades, so who knows what kind of monsters have been spawned behind closed doors.
