We’re Going In!

President Donald Trump’s spectacular success in decimating the crime rate in Washington D.C. was one thing. That city exists in a No Man’s Land where the justification for federal intervention seemed clear-cut.

But bypassing both city and state governments to bring the same peace and rule of law to what Lincoln called “that awful wicked city of Chicago” definitely raises the stakes. Is it worth the gamble?

That’s the word from Lori Lightfoot, the former  mayor of Chicago, in opposing President Donald Trump’s call for the National Guard to fight crime in the Windy City.
