That’s the word from Lori Lightfoot, the former mayor of Chicago, in opposing President Donald Trump’s call for the National Guard to fight crime in the Windy City.

Veteran Chicago TV and print journalist William J. Kelly delivers a scathing parting shot to outgoing Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot, who was recently defeated in her run for re-election.
Kelly, whose press credentials were revoked by Lightfoot, lambasted the controversial Windy City mayor’s performance in office, concluding his rant with: “I hope you realize what damage you’ve done to the city. Instead of tackling the problem head-on, and putting car thieves behind bars, Mayor Muriel Bowser is playing a game of make-believe. She’s announced a new program supported by Kia and Hyundai to supply free steering wheel locks to residents who own those brands of cars.
Sounds identical to Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot’s approach to solving a range of burglaries afflicting street vendors. She’s proposing they carry no cash, and only accept credit card payments for the foods and goods they sell. Once again, Lightfoot refuses to get tough and swat down the thieves. When you cut to the chase, it’s the lack of effective police enforcement that’s aggravating rampant and excessive crime in the Windy City.
