Catching Criminals Off Guard
ICE is now breaking records and making deportations safer than ever before. How? Through an innovative partnership between ICE ( Immigration and Customs Enforcement) with TSA (Transportation Security Administration).
Under this brainstorm, ICE gets digital records from TSA of passengers making domestic flights. ICE checks those lists against its own records, compilations of delinquent or wanted immigrants, known to have committed crimes.
If a name pops up, ICE dispatches a plainclothes team on the day of the suspect’s scheduled flight to apprehend this delinquent on airport grounds. The arrests occur after checkpoints, so these delinquents aren’t armed, minimizing the chances of violence.
Since the start of the program, more deportations are occurring every month. ICE sent 1.4 million illegal aliens packing over the past year. Another 2.2 million aliens elected to self-deport — so we have more than 3 million fewer aliens within the country, along with less crime and more jobs available for native Americans.
