Paul Ryan Should Step Down

Lou Dobbs has called for House Speaker Paul Ryan to step down. We concur. We have no problem with Ryan remaining in the House and serving his district in Wisconsin. But he needs to resign as House Speaker.

Republicans now have control of not only the presidency, but also both chambers of Congress and the vast majority of state legislatures. We want our leaders working together and taking bold steps to serve the public. The years of erratic, do-nothing leaders must come to an end. Paul Ryan is probably an A-OK Congressman, but he will never be mistaken for an imaginative or energetic or innovative House Speaker, a la Newt Gingrich.

Was It A Terror Attack?

The United States has wrapped itself so tightly in political correctness, that it’s beginning to unravel our level of security. Take the San Bernardino shootings and the neighbor who witnessed the suspects amassing an unsual amount of boxes in their garage and working suspiciously through the night, but didn’t alert authorities for fear of being called a racial profiler.

Now in the vein of being PC–with a good dose of politics mixed in–President Barack Obama is again intent on refusing to call the attack an act of terror. With the overwhelming evidence of pre-planning by the suspects, massive armament on their person and in their home base and connections with radical Islamists in the Middle East, President Zero is leaning toward another incident of workplace violence.

Incredible! Former FBI Terror Task Force member Steve Rogers is appalled at our government’s reaction. “I don’t understand why in situations like this our government has to be more worried about offending people and being politically correct,” Rogers said.  He appeared on “Mornings with Maria” hosted by Maria Bartiromo. Fox Business News’ Dagen McDowell and Hedgeye CEO Keith McCullough to discuss the tragic terror attack.

Republicans Debate On Fox

Political strategist and commentator Dick Morris gives us a preview of tonight’s fourth Republican presidential debate, this time hosted by the Fox Business News. He says that the focus of the debate might likely center on Ben Carson, amid a flurry of allegedly outlandish comments in his autobiography. And then there’s the big question of whether Donald Trump will recapture the magic again, following a sluggish late summer and early fall that saw his support in the polls dwindle.

Another Black Monday

Fox News Business Channel’s Stuart Varney reacts to Monday’s 1089-point collapse in early trading, the biggest-ever drop in the Dow Jones Industrial Average. The Dow recovered slightly, closing the day with a 588-point drop. A visibly excited Varney tells viewers, “I do believe the circuit breakers kick in if you hit 7 percent. We’re at 6.4 percent now, if we hit 7 percent the action closes down on the New York Stock Exchange.” The market eventually reached 6.62 percent, but rallied late, avoiding a shutdown.
