Iran Short-Changes U.S.

President Obama was quickly in front of the TV cameras, crowing about the administration’s preliminary nuke deal that left Iran’s Supreme Leader with an ear-to-ear grin and Americans empty-handed. The critics are blasting the deal, including former assistant Secretary of Defense Richard Perle, who says, “It (deal) basically allows Iran to stay in the nuclear business and no one, under those circumstances, can possibly say that this will preclude their acquiring a weapon.” Perle offers further analysis to host Steve Malzberg on Newsmax TV.

An Imperial Presidency?

During a recent press conference, Captain Destruct-O, aka President Obama, again telegraphed his intention to act on the immigration crisis facing our country, with or without the help of Congress. In short, he would wave the magic wand of amnesty to millions of illegal aliens already living in the United States and for hundreds of thousands still migrating here. It makes not a bit of difference to Obama that the majority of the country opposes any such action, that such an executive order would further sting our economy and that his actions are downright constitutionally illegal.

Former presidential candidate and senior advisor to President Nixon Patrick Buchanan discusses the border crisis with Newsmax’s Steve Malzberg on The Steve Malzberg Show.

Paul Rodriguez KOs CNN

Steve Malzberg, host of Newsmax’s “Give Me 5,”  focuses on the immigration crisis on our southern border, where more than 50,000 children from Central America have spilled into our country, many of them sans parents. Malzberg says the media discourse on the issue took an unexpected turn when conservative comedian Paul Rodriguez frustrated CNN commentator Don Lemon. Lemon, who asked Rodriguez why our nation is so divided on the issue, was visibly stunned when he didn’t get the answer he expected.

“I don’t think we are divided,” said Rodriguez, who is Mexican-American. “I think America has its heart in the right place. We need to be compassionate. We need to be strong and enforce our laws. It is precisely why we need to make it clear to these countries that regardless of the obvious trauma that they’re going through, we have to set laws and let them know that it’s not the land of milk and honey.” Listen to the conclusion as Lemon responds.

There’s No Turning Back

Distinguished professor of economics at George Mason University and syndicated columnist Walter E. Williams says there is such a deep political divide in our nation that he believes conservatives must divorce progressives. “I think it is clear that we have strayed very far from the Constitution,” Williams tells Steve Malzberg of Newmax TV.

“The founders gave us a Constitution where the federal government’s role in our lives was limited. … The federal government (today) is in every single aspect of our lives without any Constitutional amendments, and it seems like there’s no turning back. Most Americans want to have the power to use the federal government to live at the expense of another American. That is, they want their congressmen to use the power of their office to take the rightful property of one American and bring it back to them, whether you talk about farm subsidies, food stamps, business bailouts, food stamps, welfare and thousands of federal programs.”

Government Settlement in Limbo

The rhetoric is friendlier and Republicans and Democrats are still talking, but the government shutdown appears far from settled. The Media’s Stone-Cold Silence

Former New York Times reporter Judith Miller. who spent 85 days in jail in 2009 for refusing to reveal her source in the Valerie Plame CIA affair, tells NewsmaxTV’s Steve Malzberg that she is shocked by the lack of outrage by the journalistic community over the potential jailing of reporter Jana Winter, who refuses to reveal her sources in the James Holmes Aurora theater massacre. She says it would be a different story if Winter didn’t work for Fox News.
