This comes as CNN admits the Republicans are likely to hold The Senate, and could also take The House, as polls have been overstating Democratic allegiance. A small overstatement, as low as two or three percent, could be enough to flip the results.

The investment, reported today by Semafor and confirmed across outlets, lands right as Christiane Amanpour announced she is leaving CNN after 43 years. Talent is clearly running scared at both networks, but I’ll explain why Musk’s capital and interest in these companies is actually a good sign for the future of American media.
The news comes just as Kara Swisher, a longtime tech journalist and CNN contributor who once promised to leave if MAGA voices took over, is floating the idea of jail time for Elon. On a recent podcast she claimed he might already be in prison under a Kamala Harris presidency and that Democrats will come for him hard if they retake Congress. Musk’s reply was direct: “Live by the sword, die by the sword. Sounds like Swisher really wants to go to prison.” Talking about ticking off the new boss. Harry Enten, the chief data analyst for CNN, says the GOP is now poised to hold the U.S. Senate and could quite possibly keep the U.S. House as well. Enten says national polls have overstated levels of Democratic support. Based on early vote totals from the states, we could be looking at a 2-4 percent flip.
If it’s 3 percent, says Enten, Republicans would likely take 53 Senate seats and win just over 218 House seats — enough to hold both chambers.
