Foxconn Fight in Wisconsin

State and local officials in Wisconsin are doling out $4.5 billion and 1,000 acres to lure the Taiwanese manufacturing giant Foxconn. The new plant will provide thousands of jobs, so it is widely supported by not only Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, but also House Speaker Paul Ryan and President Donald Trump. But there is a catch: Not all of the farmers or residents whose land is being seized support the new plant. Here is a look at the controversy from Reason.TV.

Remember Thistle Pettersen? She’s the Madison, Wisconsin anarchist and musician who appeared in a popular June 7 Call Me Stormy post called “Denial,” wailing about the election results from the night before, in which Wisconsin voters retained Gov. Scott Walker. Turns out that Pettersen had much more to say than got reported in that initial MacIver News Service video.
