CIA’s Secret War On Music

The music that defined a generation didn’t come out of nowhere, and neither did the drugs that arrived with it. John Potash has spent thirty years in the government documents, and the answer is on the record.

John Potash, author of Drugs as Weapons Against Us and The FBI War on Tupac Shakur, joins me to trace how the CIA and allied intelligence agencies used drug trafficking, MKUltra experiments, and mind control programs to shape the counterculture and the artists who led it.

We follow the paper trail from the CIA’s LSD experiments to the heroin and crack epidemics, and to the musicians who were targeted once they got sober and turned political: Jimi Hendrix, John Lennon, Janis Joplin, Kurt Cobain, and Tupac Shakur. The FBI files on Hendrix, Lennon and Joplin are real, and Potash walks through what they contain.

We also examine how the same playbook runs today, from mass SSRI prescriptions to marijuana legalization and the Silicon Valley push for microdosing and ketamine. This is the hidden history of the war on drugs, told through court documents, declassified files, and FBI records. Here’s more from Seth Holehouse on a new edition of Man In America.

Should We Inhibit SSRIs?

Is the high incident rate for mass shootings linked to an acceleration in the use of SSRIs, or antidepressant  drugs? Common brand names of these drugs include Provac and Zoloft. The acronym SSRI stands for Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors.

Here, Health and Human Affairs Secretary Robert Kennedy Jr. says the surge in mass shootings across the United States appears to coincident with increased use of SSRIs. He’s studying ways to break that cycle. Here’s more from M.J. Truth.

SSRIs And School Shootings

Probably a fifth of the entire American population is on SSRIs.

Psychiatrist Josef Witt-Doerring explains why that’s terrifying and dangerous. Here’s more from Tucker Carlson.
