We’ve now been told a waterspout or perhaps a tornado capsized a luxury yacht off the coast of Sicily, killing the British mogul Mike Lynch as well as quite possibly his friend Jonathan Bloomer, another powerful executive.
Lynch pocketed $11.7 billion dollars in 2011 when he sold his software firm Autonomy to Hewlett-Packard. Hewlett-Packard later filed criminal fraud charges against Lynch, claiming he had misrepresented Autonomy’s value by several billion dollars. In a strange coincidence, on the same day as Lynch’s yacht Bayesian sunk, the former Finance Vice President of Autonomy, Stephen Chamberlain, was fatally struck by a car while jogging along a road.
Lynch wasn’t the only victim in the yacht sinking. At least five others died when the yacht capsized, including Bloomer, the Chairman of Morgan Stanley International, as well as Bloomer’s wife. Authorities are still unable to find the body of Lynch’s teenage daughter Hannah, so it’s feared she also has died. Here’s more from The Real Raw News.
