Colbert Out, UFC In

Stephen Colbert — a frequent critic of Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) and Joe Rogan — was fired by Paramount/CBS for underperformance. Days after the Skydance merger they just signed a $7.7B deal with the UFC. Talk about salt in the wound. Here’s more from Clownfish TV.

Trump Curse

The Howard Stern Show is getting canceled after 20 years on SiriusXM. Ratings for the shock jock have plummeted after he became a very belligerent and vocal detractor of President Donald Trump.

Sirius XM finally had enough of the monkey business. Stern will work out his contract, but it won’t be renewed. He was no longer earning enough to justify what he was getting paid.

Our advice: Hey, Howard, how about you and Stephen Colbert hold a coffee klatch? Here’s more from The Salty Cracker.

After a 50-year run, Saturday Night Live is on the chopping block. The vultures are circling because the comedy skit series is now losing close to $100 million a year.

More rumors are flying since Saturday Night Live went on an unscheduled hiatus. There’s also a flurry of speculation now that it appears Lorne Michaels, the show’s creator and executive producer all this time, is nearing retirement.

When will NBC lower the boom? And will the network also axe its late-night talk shows? Here’s more from The Quartering.

In fact, the hiatus is normal.

We know a lot of folks are hoping to see this show get axed, but it’s still pulling views for ABC… for now. Here’s more from Clownfish TV.

The first reports are in, and they are devastating to Netflix. The firm has seen its cancellations rise by 800 percent since it released the documentary Cuties. This comes as the evidence mounts: Cuties might bill itself as a documentary, but the appeal of the film lies strictly with pedophiles and porn fanatics. More from The Quartering.

It’s not just Netflix that’s the problem. We Are Change discusses how the pedophilia that streams throughout Cuties pervades many other films and sources. The streaming service might face a boycott, but others should be subjected to closer scrutiny as well.
