BLM Protests=Coachella 2020

The world has lost it this time. Finally it has happened. We finally became a society that needs to signal our virtue but make it fashionable because Coachella 2020 was cancelled (postponed? deleted? who knows) and we need that fashion Coachella clout so much we’re willing to take advantage of the protests out there for a quick like and a quick follow. Bless us all as we descend into everlasting pit of narcissism & shallowness. More from Barbara4U2C.

Shibuya: Tokyo’s Lockdown

Black Pigeon Speaks takes us to the Shibuya district in Tokyo. This is a gritty shopping and commercial district that straddles two of Tokyo’s busiest railroad hubs — the Shibuya Station and the Shinjuku Station. This is a district of great popularity with young people. Here can be found several famous fashion stores as well as Japan’s Internet technology firms. But there are also small walking streets where there are old-school pubs that can only accommodate a few people in tight quarters. This is a walk-though tour.

Nike Dropkicks Betsy Ross

Here we go again. The demonic Nike has dropped its new Betsy Ross flag shoes because the millionaire injustice monger, Colin Kaepernick, is squealing. The former NFL football player, a veteran loser, proclaimed the shoes represented racism, so he complained about them, leading Nike to drop the new shoe design. When does being a rotten football player stand as qualification to serve as a fashion accessorizer?

Kaepernick, your 15 minutes of infamy was up a long time ago. Nike, you are not only morons, you are satanic and deserve to have all of your shoes burned. More from Bill Whittle.

Vogue’s “Fashion” Editor

By now, everyone’s heard about the Vogue fashion editor Lynn Yeager, berating First Lady Melania Trump for wearing black stilettos while touring the hurricane damage in Houston. By how many people have seen exactly how rancid Yeager is in person? You have to question Vogue’s fashion sense when their fashion editor is as ugly as Yeager. Hard to tell if she’s a homely woman or a dude who made a sexual transformation. Either way, somebody should beat that chick with an ugly stick.

(EDITOR’S NOTE: This video has disappeared off YouTube so we bring you another video. And, yes, Lynn Yeager remains just as ugly. Once a scuzz, always a scuzz!)

From Models to Jailbirds

More than 60 gorgeous foreign models were arrested in China recently, taken into custody and had their passports confiscated. Turns out it’s difficult to get a work permit or entertainment visa in parts of the country, so the models were using tourist visas, which are illegal in China. SourceFed’s Trisha Hershberger and Lee Newton explain.

Taliban Targets Sheer Clothing

The Taliban continues to play the role of fashion cops in Pakistan. Shopkeepers have been warned they can be fined as much as $500 if they sell sheer or tight-fitting clothes for men.  The Taliban wants everyone looking suitably nondescript for the holy month of Ramadan.

Styled in California

“This is a typical California day,” narrator Janis Paige announces as a family arrives at the beach in a convertible. Courtesy of Prelinger Archive comes this colorful 1960s advertisement for Montgomery Ward’s summer clothing line.

“California has become the fastest growing fashion and design center in the world,” Paige notes. Moreover, the people are happy, and it’s not because they’re on vacation. It’s because they live here. Everything is shiny and new — not wholly a rejection of East Coast opulence, but reflective of a different pace of life — one focused more on amusement. Mad Men viewers will appreciate this advertising campaign’s time capsule of an era.
