Christians and archaeologists have long debated where the tomb of Jesus Christ was located. Some, like the Catholic and Orthodox churches, believes the Church of the Holy Sepulchre houses Christ’s tomb.
But others, including many Protestants, argue that the nearby Garden Tomb is the real location. Glenn Beck, who leaned towards the Garden Tomb theory, speaks with Baptist pastor and New Testament scholar Jeremiah Johnston, who (to Glenn’s surprise) sides with the Catholics on this issue.
Johnston explains why he believes the evidence is clear: The Church of the Holy Sepulchre marks the true location of Christ’s crucifixion, burial and resurrection.
In 2022, a prize of one million dollars was promised to anyone who could recreate the Shroud of Turin. If the Shroud is a forgery, that should be a simple task. Yet, no one has accepted the challenge.
“The Shroud of Turin is the most lied about artifact in history,” says distinguished New Testament scholar, Pastor, and President of Christian Thinkers Society, Jeremiah J. Johnston, who guides Glenn Beck through a scientific, historic and theological exploration “beyond the mystery” to the “message of the Shroud.”
Discredited and marginalized as a relic only relevant to the Catholic faith, Johnston contends that the Shroud of Turin has something to offer every follower of Christ. He reveals what he believes to be the rare blood type of Jesus, the real design of the crown of thorns, and why, in his opinion, Christ was buried at the Church of the Holy Sepulcher.
Glenn Beck shares what he saw when given a behind the scenes look at the artifacts housed in the Vatican, and asks Johnston whether he is concerned about the AI recreation of the face of Christ. Not only may the Shroud of Turin provide a deeper understanding of the crucifixion, but does it also miraculously uncover the exact moment of Christ’s resurrection? Find out in this paradigm shattering episode of the Glenn Beck Podcast.
The Shroud of Turin is the single most Divine and inexplicable artifact in the history of mankind. In our view, the science is conclusive to the extent that the three-dimensional image of the man on the linen is a negative. which could only be seen as a positive after the invention of modern photography. And it cannot be reproduced today by any means.
The image depicts a man who was crucified while wearing a cap of thorns. This man endured a brutal beating. bringing Him to the edge of death prior to His crucifixion. Dr. Jerome Corsi believes, as do I, that this is a miraculous “photograph” of the Lord Jesus Christ at the moment of Resurrection. This is the incredibly true story of the Shroud of Turin. Rober Sepehr, author and anthropologist, introduces us to the legend of the Phoenix, early mystics and the land of Phoenicia. These places, seers and symbols have a connection to Christianity, as they serve to embody the Resurrection. But they also bear a relationship to the palm tree, and to various ancient gods, including Adonis in Greek mythology and older gods from Sumeria. The red-plumed Phoenix was revered as well in ancient China and Korea.
This tale takes us to the founding of Carthage, which later battled with Rome. Ancient DNA studies show, though, that the Phoenicians from Carthage shared a European heritage with the Romans. Phoenician symbols turned up in Viking lore, and also appeared across present-day Great Britain. These symbols even surfaced in early North America, notably at Mystery Hill in New Hampshire. Native tribesmen across North America have tales and legends of giants that once traversed the New World. How might the Phoenicians figure into these stories and legends?
