The Evil Hellfire Club

We’re all familiar with Yale University’s infamous Skull and Bones Society, which counts many prominent American presidents as its members, and the centuries-old Free Masons, seemingly always shrouded in mystery. But few people have ever heard of Ireland’s Hellfire Club, one of the darkest societies in history.  Once located in a stone lodge on a remote Ireland hillside, history tells us the cult practiced human sacrifice, demonic possession and even encounters with Satan himself. Eskify takes an in-depth look at the depravity and pure evil of the society.

European Union Revolt

A bloc of 12 European nations has formed a coalition to stop Germany and France from wielding so much power and control over the European Union. Dr. Steve Turley says four of the nations, the Visegrad Four, are in Eastern Europe: Poland, Hungary, the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Then there are eight in the northern half of the continent, the Eight Northern Lights: Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Ireland, Latvia, Lithuania, Sweden and Netherlands. It’s possible Italy might also take part, after its new election firmed up power for nationalists there.

Irish Eyes Aren’t Smiling

President Obama was in Ireland this week for the G8 summit, but at least one Irish politician is not happy about the visit. Clare Daly, a member of the Irish Parliament, tore apart both Obama and the “unprecedented slobbering” over him and his family during their visit. She called the U.S. president a “war criminal” who can hardly claim to be promoting peace, and called out Irish leaders for pimping out Ireland for Obama, saying the Irish government is “prostituting ourselves in return for a pat on the head.”

World of Beers XXI

On tap tonight: Guinness, Ireland.

The YouTube title describes this as a “banned beer commercial,” but that’s a misnomer. It’s actually not a genuine Guinness commercial at all, but instead an ad director’s idea of a joke. Using his own equipment, he created the commercial on a budget of $320, paying the actress $300 and using the balance of $20 to buy food and a six-pack of Guinness. “IT was meant to either make people laugh or get really disgusted,” he explained. “I rather people felt the former because that’s why it was made. Just for fun.”

Diageo, which owns the Guinness brand, is pushing to have the spot removed from YouTube, so enjoy it while you can.
