White Berbers and the Moors

The people known as Moors today are an offshoot of the Berber people, a native population of north Africa, especially around the Atlas mountains. When Arabs conquered North Africa in the 7th and 8th centuries, one of the first people to convert were the white Berbers, who helped the Arabs in their spread of Islam, conquering the Iberian Peninsula, Southern France and Italy and the island of Sicily. Assassination in Tunisia

Thousands of angry protesters took to the street of the Tunisian city of Sidi Bouzid after leading opposition politician Mohamed Brahmi was assassinated in the capital Tunis. Brahmi was shot dead outside his home in Tunis on Thursday in the second such assassination this year, setting off violent protests against the Islamist-led government in the capital and elsewhere.

Islamic Militants Target Kids

Islamic extremists attacked a boarding school in northern Nigeria, murdering close to 30 students and a teacher in cold blood. Once again, adherents of Islam demonstrate an amoral and violent streak, leading them to commit vile deeds in a misguided bid to advance their religion. This cowardly bunch will never clean up its act.

Anti-Morsi Protests Rock Egypt

Mass protests calling for the resignation of Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi and an early presidential election are taking place in Cairo and around Egypt. His opponents say he has failed to tackle economic and security problems and instead pushed the Islamist agenda of the Muslim Brotherhood party.The protests come on the first anniversary of Morsi’s election as Egypt’s first Islamist president.

A new report has determined that Christians are the world’s most persecuted religious group, particularly in Islamic nations. But little is being done to aid the victims because political leaders in Christian countries are either afraid of being dubbed racists or else simply spineless. Islam: Fount of All Goodness

No shrinking violet, Egyptian Cleric Mahmoud Shaaban declared on national television that everything good in Europe can be traced to tenets in Islam. Likewise, he said, the United States can fix its economic woes by embracing Islamic economic principles, such as providing interest-free loans.
