Irish Eyes Aren’t Smiling

President Obama was in Ireland this week for the G8 summit, but at least one Irish politician is not happy about the visit. Clare Daly, a member of the Irish Parliament, tore apart both Obama and the “unprecedented slobbering” over him and his family during their visit. She called the U.S. president a “war criminal” who can hardly claim to be promoting peace, and called out Irish leaders for pimping out Ireland for Obama, saying the Irish government is “prostituting ourselves in return for a pat on the head.”

Marines Dispatched to Jordan

Fireball Over Damascus

Syrian state television has reported that a series of heavy explosions in the capital were caused by Israeli rocket strikes. SANA reports that the blasts early Sunday morning targeted a military research center on the outskirts of the capital. The research center in Jamraya was the target of an earlier Israeli strike in January.

The Associated Press has said that its Twitter account was hacked by a group allied with Syria’s President Bashar al-Assad. Before the hack was uncovered, fake news planted by the cyber warriors sent the US stock market reeling.

Annihilation Awaits Terrorists

Ramzan Kadyrov, president of the Chechen Republic, vows to annihilate any terrorists returning to Chechnya or Russia from Syria. He made the pledge in an interview with Sky News Arabia, broadcast in Abu Dhabi. Kadyrov was responding to reports that Chechnyan fighters have joined the rebels waging civil war against the regime of Syrian leader Bashar al-Assad.

One million refugees have fled Syria’s bloody conflict. But what awaits them across the border? This shocking report reveals the violence and sexual abuse endured by the women running from the bloodshed.

“He’d want to touch you, grab you, kiss you before he’d give you the box,” Hoda says, describing how those distributing Red Cross refugee aid in Lebanon seek sexual favors from her in return. The men are influential, so she feels that if she complains or reports the abuse she’ll be denied further aid. In fact women without male protection are so vulnerable that many jump into quick marriages out of fear.
