The Iranian Coverup

President Obama covered up an attack by Iranian jets on a US drone missile on November 1 and didn’t tell us until after election day. Added to the Benghazi coverup and the cooking of the books to make unemployment  numbers appear less onerous, the Administration engaged in shady deceit to win a razor-thin victory. Pundit Dick Morris calls for Congressional probes.

That’s No Earthquake, Obama

It’s just the dead rumbling in their graves at Arlington National Cemetery, reacting to last Tuesday’s election. In this week’s edition of The Great Eight, Ben Crystal also goes dress shopping with Michelle Obama, checks in with Massachusetts’ Princess Liawatha and makes a mad dash for Twinkies and Dorito’s, hoping the grocery shelves haven’t all been stripped bare of munchies by Colorado’s stoners.

Porn Threatens Pullout

The porn industry failed this week in its bid to stop Measure B — the Los Angeles County Condom Initiative. Voters, by a margin of 55 to 45 percent, passed the initiative requiring XXX performers to wear condoms for their sex scenes. The measure also will set up a squad of health inspectors to periodically drop by the movie sets — unannounced — to enforce the requirement.

What next? Porn vows it won’t take the setback lying down. Some industry leaders are considering whether to vacate Los Angeles County and the San Fernando Valley that has long been the industry’s home. Where might they go? Neighboring Riverside and Ventura counties have been mentioned as possibilities. Another option: New Hampshire, where XXX filming is permitted. Guess that would put a new twist on the state’s motto: Live Free or Die.

(EDITOR’S NOTE: This video has vanished from YouTube. In its absence, here’s a look at the Measure B election from Reason.TV).

Dick Morris’ Mea Culpa

Pundit Dick Morris eats crow and explains how he completely misgauged the depth of President Obama’s support in his bid for re-election. Morris also outlines the troubles ahead as Obama tries to ramrod increasingly Leftist policies through the Congress. We’ll need to be diligent and mobilized to fight back.

Election Hangover

Chuck Woolery says after “a night of binging on the news feeds, drinking in the commentary and stumbling around the contradictory polling numbers,” he’s nursing a post-election hangover. But he anticipates a fast recovery, so he can roll up his sleeves and return to the task at hand, “getting out the truth and holding our leaders accountable.”

Military Voters Disenfranchised

Participation in yesterday’s election by military personnel deployed overseas plummeted to record lows, as the Department of Defense bungled its mission to get absentee ballots in the hands of our soldiers in a timely fashion. As a result, thousands upon thousands of Americans serving in Afghanistan and other dangerous, remote locations around the globe were left disenfranchised. Whether this represented yet another textbook example of government incompetence or was done by design to suppress a potential pool of conservative voters, the failure is inexcusable.

Congress in 2009 passed the Military and Overseas Voter Empowerment Act (or MOVE Act) to avert this train wreck. US Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, among other Congressional critics, warned Defense Secretary Leon Panetta months ago that the problem had not been addressed, and reiterated last month, “The price of DoD’s failure to follow the law will likely be paid this November by military service members and their families, whose voting rights were to have been safeguarded by this provision.”

The argument that this lapse was deliberate and willful is reinforced by the fact that on July 17, the Obama for America Campaign, the Democratic National Committee and the Ohio Democratic Party sued the state of Ohio to strike down its law that governs voting by members of the military. As Breitbart reported: “Their suit said that part of the law is `arbitrary’ with `no discernible rational basis.’ Currently, Ohio allows the public to vote early in-person up until the Friday before the election. Members of the military are given three extra days to do so.”

Hey, Look on the Bright Side

We would have preferred if voters had elected the straight-shooting and hard-working Mitt Romney as our Commander in Chief yesterday to put Americans back to work and begin to heal the nation’s divisions. But on the flip side, the re-election of President Obama guarantees that Call Me Stormy will remain on the case over the next four years — keeping you entertained, amused and outraged, while serving as a necessary counterbalance to the disgraced and deceitful Lamestream Media as well as the armies of entrenched plutocrats and bureaucrats who place their own crony interests ahead of the country’s long-term well-being.

We lost this skirmish, but by the slimmest of margins — taking more House seats and far more governorships than the Leftist Democrats. We must congratulate them on their victories in the Presidential race and in the Senate, but at the same time redouble our efforts to ensure the next skirmish ends with different results.

One silver lining: The Botox San Francisco freakazoid Nancy Pelosi will most likely be deposed from her post as leader of the House Democrats. And we doubt Obama will be squandering billions of dollars on bogus green energy initiatives fronted by his friends and supporters, or demonizing Appalachia and coal miners quite so stridently. Those are perhaps small victories, but they are victories nevertheless, and we should cherish them, while girding up for the larger battles that loom ahead.

Obama Blew It

By campaigning rather than governing in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, President Obama blew his last chance to win today’s election, pundit Dick Morris says. Obama’s highly partisan remarks, telling his supporters that “voting is the best revenge,” further weakened the likelihood that he could reach out to independents, Morris says.

Revenge of the Loins

Kelly Maher of RevealingPolitics.com vlogs the three most bizarre Obama moments from the week heading into election. David Axelrod’s declaration that Obama is giving speeches “from his loins” really raises her eyebrows, and not for the reasons Axelrod intended.
