Preliminary Midterm Forecasts

Styxhexenhammer666 makes his early midterm predictions, and believes the Republicans will take control of both the House and the Senate. He’s forecasting a 20-30 seat advantage in the House, but says that could increase to 40-50 seats if Republican voters turn out en masse.

For the Senate, he sees the GOP ahead by at least two seats,  but the party could really use a five-six seat advantage to overcome RINO traitors like Mitt Romney and John Cronyn.

Not all of the Styx forecasts are optimistic. At this point, for instance, he sees Gretchen Whitmer clinging to a re-election victory as governor of Michigan. But Biden should be surrounded, and enervated, so much so he won’t run for re-election in 2024.

Gun Grabbers Get Booed!

Sen. John Cornyn got loudly booed when he spoke at the GOP State Convention in Texas on Friday. Cornyn has been leading a bipartisan group that is pushing government gun control.

Someone should have told this idiot: If you want heavier gun control, change your party affiliation to Democrat and go speak to those leftist nuts. You’re not welcome any longer by the GOP majority!

The same applies to Cronyn’s traitorous allies: Thom Tillis and Richard Burr of North Carolina, Roy Blunt of Missouri, Rob Portman of Ohio, Mitt Romney of Utah, Bill Cassidy of Louisiana, Susan Collins of Maine, Lindsey Graham of South Carolina and Pat Toomey of Pennsylvania. These are all registered as Republicans, but they are actually bona fide Democrats in disguise. Get lost, every one of you!

CNN: Anything But That!

On CNN, Anderson Cooper desperately tried to stir up some dirt on Kavanaugh, interviewing an old college roommate who says Brett liked to drink beer. What a sacrilege! Imagine the horror if this old roommate had said Kavanaugh dined on children. Ah, but that would qualify him to become a CNN anchor! Mark Dice has more.

Expect the cloture vote on Kavanaugh to happen this morning, followed by the confirmation vote late Saturday afternoon. Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, told one reporter he expected the confirmation vote around 4:30 pm Saturday. Also, Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, ripped into reporters Thursday for the Leftist bias they have exhibited toward Kavanaugh.

Judge Jeanine Pirro says the Democrats overplayed their hand on Kavanaugh and she expects it’s going to backfire against them. She joined the “Fox & Friends” co-hosts Thursday morning to weigh in on the latest in the Judge Brett Kavanaugh confirmation controversy.

Does the Kavanaugh confirmation circus goes beyond politics or ideology into diagnosable mental illness among some on the Left? Have the judge and the accuser become icons of the nation’s abiding divide? Bill Whittle poses the questions to Scott Ott and Stephen Green on this Right Angle.

Why should we believe wahmen? When everything they say stinks like two-day-old fish. Ashton Birdie offers her take on why the Kavanaugh hearings matter, although she admits, she’s not a big Kavanaugh homey, considering his Bush connections.

Finally, Styxhexenhammer666 says Democrats are still trying to pull a surprise or two to stop the vote, but he expects it will take place Saturday, as announced. The Dems are already setting the stage to continue complaining after having gotten each successive delay.

Military Voters Disenfranchised

Participation in yesterday’s election by military personnel deployed overseas plummeted to record lows, as the Department of Defense bungled its mission to get absentee ballots in the hands of our soldiers in a timely fashion. As a result, thousands upon thousands of Americans serving in Afghanistan and other dangerous, remote locations around the globe were left disenfranchised. Whether this represented yet another textbook example of government incompetence or was done by design to suppress a potential pool of conservative voters, the failure is inexcusable.

Congress in 2009 passed the Military and Overseas Voter Empowerment Act (or MOVE Act) to avert this train wreck. US Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, among other Congressional critics, warned Defense Secretary Leon Panetta months ago that the problem had not been addressed, and reiterated last month, “The price of DoD’s failure to follow the law will likely be paid this November by military service members and their families, whose voting rights were to have been safeguarded by this provision.”

The argument that this lapse was deliberate and willful is reinforced by the fact that on July 17, the Obama for America Campaign, the Democratic National Committee and the Ohio Democratic Party sued the state of Ohio to strike down its law that governs voting by members of the military. As Breitbart reported: “Their suit said that part of the law is `arbitrary’ with `no discernible rational basis.’ Currently, Ohio allows the public to vote early in-person up until the Friday before the election. Members of the military are given three extra days to do so.”
