The controversy exploded when the A&E Network suspended reality star Phil Robertson, the patriarch of the wildly popular “Duck Dynasty” program, for voicing his opinion on homosexuality in a magazine interview with GQ. Robertson called homosexuality a sin in the interview, adding that homosexuals and other equally vile sinners would not inherit the kingdom of God. This, of course, drew the ire of the gay and lesbian community and sent panic waves through the politically correct headquarters of A&E.
On the other end of the spectrum, the haste reaction from A&E drew harsh criticism from political heavyweights Governor Bobby Jindal of Louisiana, former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin and Texas Senator Ted Cruz. “The politically correct crowd is tolerant of all viewpoints, except those they disagree with,” Jindal said. While Palin took to Facebook and Twitter writing, “Free speech is an endangered species.” On Thursday’s “Sean Hannity Show” on Fox News, Hannity gets Palin’s reaction to the controversy.
