The Joker: A Moral Punch?

Stephen Galloway at HollywoodReporter.com offers praise for the near-pornographic violence in the new film Joker with Joaquin Phoenix. Like Stanley Kubrick’s 1971 A Clockwork Orange, which garnered an X rating and a public outcry, the visceral impact of Joker sickens, yet packs a moral punch unlike anything in recent memory. Should Warner Brothers and others make gruesome films like Joker? Does the new movie show that someone in Hollywood still knows the difference between right and wrong? More from Scott Ott and Bill Whittle.

Down the Rabbithole

MSNBC goes down a new rabbithole, claiming an Asian group is trying to help bankroll President Donald trump’s re-election. Turns out MSNBC is jawboning over The Epoch Times, which is an American publication, run by recent immigrants from mainland China. Meanwhile, MSNBC says nothing over the Democratic Party traveling to Mexico City to hold three anti-Trump fund-raising events. More from Mark Dice.

Speaking of rabbit holes, Ever heard of LARRY CELONA (Royal Lancer)? Does he really exist? Stanley Kubrick in EYES WIDE SHUT listed him in the credits and showed his articles from the New York Post in a an actual movie scene. Then, get this, Larry Celona in real life writes about Kubrick’s suicide months later after the movie is released. What are the ODDS of that? More from Bill Smith.

What Is Milk Plus?

We return to the 1971 Stanley Kubrick movie A Clockwork Orange to begin to comprehend the effects of the drug adrenochrome. This is a drug the rich and famous have been consuming for decades — usually killing children, oftentimes from forlorn corners of the globe — to get their adrenochrome fix. More from CrackedRack.

Eye of the Devil

Thirty years before Stanley Kubrick made the highly revelatory film Eyes Wide Shut, another film had shown a similar dark side to the elite: Eye of the Devil, starring none other than Sharon Tate, then wife of Roman Polanski. Given her other roles and Polanki’s other films (Polanski did not direct Eye of the Devil), we see yet another window into the dark side of the elite, their worship of bloodlines and the connections between Hollywood and medieval gnostic sects. More from Jay Dyer.

(EDITOR’S NOTE: YouTube has removed and censored this video. In its absence, we present a second Jay Dyer video where he discusses Eyes Wide Shut with Sean Stone, the son of Hollywood filmmaker Oliver Stone.)

Eyes Wide Shut Revisited

We now know pretty much what’s missing from Eyes Wide Shut, Stanley Kubrick’s last film completed just before he died — or was killed.

Here, David Wilcock talks about the missing segments of the film, as well as the continuing mystery surrounding Kubrick’s death. Wilcock is a professional lecturer, whose talks range from ancient civilizations to filmmaking.

Eyes Wide Shut

A fascinating look at Eyes Wide Shut, the last movie of Stanley Kubrick, and one that was cut drastically by Warner Brothers prior to its release in 1999. Kubrick himself died in 1999, a few months ahead of the picture coming out. By all indications, he resisted the drastic cuts. The film touches upon many elements we explore here: Not only the Illuminati, but also Satanism and pedophilia. Here is a fascinating investigation by Mark Flynn.

Stanley Kubrick Told Truth

Director Stanley Kubrick told us everything we need to know about current events and who is running the world in his 1999 film Eyes Wide Shut.

(EDITOR’S NOTE: YouTube has removed and censored this video. In its absence, we present this alternative video in which Jay Dyer analyzes Eyes Wide Shut. The video is based on a redone chapter in his best-selling book on film analysis, Esoteric Hollywood: Sex, Cults & Symbols in Film. The original analysis was written SEVEN years ago. I take a different view than most analysts. My book also led to a TV show with Jay Weidner, available below at Gaia.)

How Obama Pussified America

Adam Carolla and R. Lee Ermey talk about how easy it would be to take down ISIS if we would listen to our Generals. Ermey shares his thoughts on how useless NATO is and the damage Obama’s administration has been to the United States military entirely. Ermey is a rarity — an actor who’s also a conservative. He’s probably best remembered for his role in the Stanley Kubrick film Full Metal Jacket.

(EDITOR’S NOTE: This video is no longer posted on YouTube. In its absence, we showcase this farewell salute to Lee Ermey from his fellow Marines.)

Babes of Burlesque: 53

ROXY DIAMOND

Raised in Switzerland and now based in Berlin, Roxy Diamond embarked on a career in burlesque after coming to New York to study at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, which counts Grace Kelly and Katharine Hepburn among its alumni. Her performances are often filled with movie references. She has an original act “Bates Motel” that pays homage to Alfred Hitchcock’s Psycho and another show, “Eyes Wide Shut,” inspired by Stanley Kubrick’s kinky thriller. Even so, Roxy is perhaps most celebrated for her Champagne Glass acts. She takes a dip here at the International Burlesque Circus in Utrecht, Netherlands.

We’d show you one of her movie acts, except none can be seen online, although a trailer exists for “Bates Motel” on YouTube. In the absence of same, here’s a fan dance by Roxy, set to Billie Holiday’s blues ballad “Love me or Leave Me,” and performed at the Plaza in Zurich, Switzerland.

Kubrick: One-Point Perspective

Kogonada’s Supercuts collage underscores the importance of symmetry in the films of Stanley Kubrick. Who is Kogonada? An astute film essayist who has posted visual studies on vimeo showcasing the techniques used by Kubrick, as well as Quentin Tarantino and Wes Anderson.

Kogonada says he was born in Asia, and now lives in the United States, but has kept his identity a secret. He told one interviewer, via e-mail, “I’ve always preferred a bit of anonymity. I’ve used pseudonyms in the past for other work. It’s not because I’m modest or humble, maybe just cautious. My friends have definitely questioned this decision.”
