The Riots in Sweden

Muslim immigrants in Sweden have rioted for five straight nights, an offshoot of the country’s liberal policies encouraging multiculturalism and its failure to compel immigrants to assimilate. Greg Gutfeld examines what’s at stake, and how this unrest could spread to other countries in Europe and North America.

England In State of Shock

Great Britain is coming to terms with the brutal slaying of a British soldier on a London street in an attack after which one of the perpetrators addressed a video camera saying ‘an eye for an eye…you people will never be safe,’ claiming the act of terror was a reprisal for British interference in the affairs of Muslim countries.

Fanatics Dream of Conquest

Islamic fanatics are always predicting global domination for the faith. Here’s the latest such bold forecast, from Egyptian cleric Abu Islam, who says the Flag of Islam will soon fly over the White House. He also outlines a tidy scheme to share power in Egypt, a plan that carves out different niches and turfs for the Muslim Brotherhood, Salafists and other Islamic groups, while excluding everyone else from power. Church in Cairo Under Siege

Armed civilians have laid siege to the seat of the Coptic church in Cairo, killing one person and injuring at least 21, as a funeral for four Christians killed in sectarian clashes on Saturday descended into chaos. Thousands of mourners were attacked as they tried to leave Egypt’s largest cathedral, forcing them back inside the cathedral precinct and sparking a siege that lasted all afternoon and stretched into the night. Police fired teargas over the cathedral walls and stood by as unknown men armed with birdshot, knives and petrol bombs scaled nearby buildings to attack those inside the church grounds.

Lego Stands Tall on Hutt

Earlier this week, we carried a news report about Lego withdrawing its Jabba’s Palace toy set due to pressure from an Austrian Turkish cultural association. But Lego has now denied the report and said it fully stands behind the product. The Turkish group charged that the toy features a mosque-like building inhabited by sneaky and criminal personalities with “vulgar insinuations against Asians and Orientals.” Lego says the toy will be discontinued at the end of 2013, but that’s when it was already scheduled to go off the shelves, so the complaints of the Turkish group didn’t hasten the phase-out.

Lego Caves on Star Wars Toy

Lego has pulled a Star Wars toy after the Turkish Cultural Association of Austria called it culturally insensitive, claiming the Jabba the Hutt toy resembles a mosque. How can Lego be so politically correct, so long as Jar Jar Binks toys remain on the shelves?

Sex in the Arab World

“If you really want to know people, start by looking in their bedrooms,” says Shereen El Feki, author of the new book Sex and the Citadel: Intimate Life in a Changing Arab World.

El Feki, who was raised in Canada and is a practicing Muslim, is the former vice chair of the U.N.’s Global Commission on HIV and Law. Born to an Egyptian father and Welsh mother, she was motivated by 9/11 to seek a better understanding of her Arab and Islamic heritage.

El Feki found that demonstrators for political freedom in Tahrir Square during the 2011 Egyptian Revolution had little interest in also promoting sexual freedom. That’s because most Arabs derive their sexual mores from their religious beliefs. The only way to bring more sexual freedom to the Arab world, she argues, is through Islam, which was far more tolerant of the needs of the flesh a thousand years ago than it is today. H/T Reason TV

Muslim Birth Rate Tapers Off

Declining Muslim birth rates have reduced the likelihood of Europe or North America becoming more Islamic, says pundit Dick Morris. Birth control practices and rising living costs have contributed to the decline.
