Merkel’s Rule on the Brink

Angela Merkel’s government in Germany is on the brink after Germans have overwhelmingly opposed open borders. If the future of Germany is uncertain, then the European Union is indeed on shaky ground. Dr. Steve Turley reports.

Meanwhile, Poland is striking back at the European Union for its attempts to expel Poland if it doesn’t take Muslim immigrants or follow other EU dictates. The Polish president is calling for a referendum giving voters the opportunity to decide whether they want to remain within the EU. Here’s more details from Black Pigeon Speaks.

Soros Foundation Exits Hungary

The “pro-democracy” group founded by billionaire George Soros is leaving Hungary after its Prime Minister announced crackdowns on non-governmental organizations. Hungarian-American Soros’s Open Society Foundations (OSF) said it is moving to Germany, leaving what it called ‘an increasingly repressive political and legal environment’ in Hungary. The right-wing government of Viktor Orban announced the new restrictions yesterday, under a law dubbed the ‘Stop Soros’ bill. Now it’s time to step up pressure against the evil Soros everywhere, including here in the United States. More from Peter Sweden.

McConnell Another Swamp Rat

Where’s our ambassador to Germany? Right now, dozens of countries, some of them key strategic allies, don’t have US ambassadors because the U.S. Senate has refused to vote on their confirmation. You should contact the slumbering swamp rat Mitch McConnell at his DC office and ask why by calling (202) 224-2541. Here’s more from The Rubin Report.

European Union Revolt

A bloc of 12 European nations has formed a coalition to stop Germany and France from wielding so much power and control over the European Union. Dr. Steve Turley says four of the nations, the Visegrad Four, are in Eastern Europe: Poland, Hungary, the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Then there are eight in the northern half of the continent, the Eight Northern Lights: Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Ireland, Latvia, Lithuania, Sweden and Netherlands. It’s possible Italy might also take part, after its new election firmed up power for nationalists there.

Pied Piper of Hamelin

This television documentary investigates the legendary figure of the Pied Piper. Why did he play the flute and wear such brightly colored clothes? Did he lead the children of Hamelin to safety or did they actually meet their deaths after taking part in summertime ritual exercises on a mountaintop east of Hamelin? Could they have actually migrated to the east, resettling on lands closer to Berlin? This fascinating doc explores several options, including dark suggestions that a group of barons — the Von Spiegelbergs — massacred the children?

Wonder if they are related to Steven Spielberg? Interesting how he named his production company Amblin Entertainment — seemingly evoking Hamelin, a small city of roughly 50,000 in the Lower Saxony region of Germany. Here we present the full documentary, as well as a shorter work highlighting oddities in the legend.

(EDITOR’S NOTE: Spielberg says the name Amblin comes from his first commercial film, Amblin’, from 1968, the story of a man and a woman hitchhiking across a desert.)

Shocking New Clinton Emails

Tom Fitton of Judicial Watch says a new batch of emails secured by his organization shows gross corruption and violation of the law by Hillary Clinton. “The fact is that Hillary Clinton, in a really casual, unbelievable way, violated numerous laws relating to the handling of classified information, the maintenance of federal records and basic laws like you can’t take stuff that doesn’t belong to you.”

Also disclosed: Chelsea Clinton got a free ride to Germany on a government plane so she could watch a soccer match.

A Different Outcome in WWI

Author Niall Ferguson’s The Pity of War examines what the world be like–especially the European Union–if Germany had been victorious in World War I. In his tome, Ferguson destroys many myths of the world’s first major conflict and asks many direct and impolite questions.

Political pundit Dick Morris says perhaps the major benefit of a German victory would have quashed the rise of Adolf Hitler and the Third Reich. “The stab in the back theory that animated Hitler’s rise to power was based on Germany losing World War I when it thought that it was on verge of winning it,” Morris says. “And that would not have taken place and Hitler would not have been propelled into power. Germany would not have had to pay huge reparations to the rest of the world and therefore would not have had mega-inflation, would not have had the economic collapse, and Hitler would not exist.”

Morris elaborates further in this educational edition of Dick Morris Reports.
