Small Government The Answer

The bigger the government, the smaller the citizen. Not everyone understands why that’s true, however, and Dennis Prager responds to some of those critics, pointing out, “The bigger the government, the smaller the citizen.

Prager also introduces a rare guest–20-year-old Amala Ekpunobi–an impressive new edition to the PragerU family, who became a much happier person when she left left-wing activism and victimhood in favor of logical conservative values.

News Anchor Resigns

A TV news anchor has resigned, saying she doesn’t “like the direction the media is going.” MAJOR. It’s so sad, and she’s so right. Are you paying attention? More from PragerU.

Capitalism Saved China

How did one of the world’s poorest countries—China—become one of the world’s richest in just 30 years? The answer is capitalism. The bizarre about-face is difficult to fathom in this day and age, but here’s how it happened.

In 1949, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) defeated the Nationalist Party in a brutal civil war. The leader of the CCP, Mao Zedong, promised the Chinese people that he would create a new China. To transform China into this heaven-on-earth, Mao launched radical socialist reforms: industries were nationalized, private businesses were eliminated and land was confiscated. But rather than turning China into a heaven on earth, these policies turned China into a hell-on-earth.

Mao’s successor, Deng Xiaoping, didn’t have any answers, but in 1978, a small group of 18 of farmers from the village of Xiaogang did. They made a secret deal with their village leader.  After fulfilling the government quotas, they would be allowed to keep any surplus for themselves and sell what they didn’t need.

The result was magical. The “Xiaogang model” began to spread to other villages. When Deng heard of it, rather than punishing the farmers, he had the good sense to recognize that these simple peasants had shown him how to revive China’s economy. The freer the Chinese economy became, the wealthier the Chinese people became. In the space of three decades, 800 million Chinese people emerged out of poverty. Guns Prevent Tyranny

ANYONE who understands the Second Amendment knows it’s not really about guns. It’s about ensuring freedom and protecting yourself from tyranny. And you’d better believe that’s important. More from the rapper Ice-T and PragerU.

Is Free College A Good Idea?

With the Democrat Party barreling out of control on a careless spending spree, it appears that free college for all is next on the docket.

Thanks to big government, the cost of a college education has skyrocketed at an alarming rate, rising a shocking 1,000 percent since the 1970s. PragerU’s Will Witt takes the issue to the University of Texas at Austin campus, where he receives some interesting thoughts on whether a college education should be a freebie and who will pay for it.

JFK: A Conservative Today?

President John F. Kennedy lowered taxes, opposed abortion, supported gun rights and believed in a strong military. A strong, conservative Republican, right? Not quite. JFK was the darling of the Democrat Party in the early 1960s, though the party was a lot more moderate than today’s looney tunes.

Fast forward to 2021 and PragerU’s Will Witt asks, “Would JFK be a conservative today? In the years since the JFK Administration, the Left has become much more radical and, although many people look up to JFK for his liberal causes, a closer look at his policies paints a different picture. Kennedy was a lifelong NRA member and strong supporter of the 2nd Amendment, and he believed that a well-equipped military was the answer, as demonstrated in the Cuban Missile Crisis. Today, the Left supports abortion, even up to nine months. Kennedy would have never approved of that. In the following presentation, Witt digs deeper into JFK’s policies and comes to the conclusion that our 35th President just might have moved to the other side of the aisle.

Woke Dr. Seuss Books

The woke mob has now set its sights on Dr. Seuss, so Will Witt has some suggestions for updates to his classic books to make them woke-friendly! More from PragerU.

What Is A Conservative?

The eyes of Texas were upon PragerU’s Will Witt, as he sauntered onto the University of Texas at Austin campus for a down-to-earth, random conversation with students about conservatism. His question: What is a conservative?

As you can imagine, the responses at UT mirrored those of most colleges across the nation, which are engrossed in liberal group think. And while students touched on conservatives being stuck in the past and espousing outdated values, it wasn’t long before the “R” word snuck into the discourse. Not surprisingly, in the majority of interviews Witt conducted, conservatives were deemed racist. Tune in for more of this provocative segment on PragerU with Witt.

California Businesses Leaving

Even Bill Maher has recognized the result of unchecked progressive policies and out-of-control taxation in a once-thriving state. There are lessons to be learned here, folks. More from PragerU.

Big Government A Joke

Small government was the vision of our founding fathers. It’s the reason America has provided its people more freedom and more opportunity to live a better life. But with the recent fake election of perhaps the most corrupt and radical government in our history, are these values vanishing?

Appearing on this segment of PragerU, Green Bay Packers’ quarterback Aaron Rodgers provides some perspective, summing up the political climate on Capitol Hill perfectly: “It’s just an amazing deal what they’re doing,” Rodgers says. “If you look around our environment today, it’s not like the government is helping anybody out in a timely fashion. It took forever to figure out how to give $600 checks away. To count on the government to help us out is becoming a joke at this point.”

Rodgers lauded Barstool Sports, a sports and pop-culture blog that created a fund to help small businesses endure the catastrophic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. Rodgers says relying on government is not the answer, people helping people is the way to go.

PragerU founder Dennis Prager concurred, adding that every society in history has shown us that, as government grows, human freedom and happiness shrinks. “The bigger the government, the smaller the citizen,” he says. Here’s more from PragerU.
