Dissing The Constitution

Yet another institution of higher learning from the Ivy League–America’s bastion of liberalism–is rearing its progressive head. This week’s target is the U.S. Constitution, which guarantees citizens their basic rights and freedoms, yet many Yale University students think it’s a great idea to completely repeal it.

In this digital short from PragerU, Ami Horowitz headed to Yale with a fake petition, asking students if they would favor repealing the Constitution in its entirety. The response was shocking, with students calling the Constitution racist, containing no real freedoms and written by white supremacists. Says Horowitz, “Sixty-five percent of everyone I spoke with signed my petition to get rid of the Constitution of the United States of America.” Meanwhile, a woman close by spent the entire day attempting to register students to vote. She did not register one single person. Here’s more with Horowitz on PragerU.

Be Brave

Free speech and intellectual freedom are the civil rights issues of our time. Are you ready to defend them? That’s the question former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley is asking Americans.

She says defending America won’t be easy, but it will be necessary. “Be brave, defend America,” she says. “Defend your right to speak out.” Haley emphasizes that speaking out doesn’t mean being rude or resorting to violence. Always have the facts and deliver the truth with purpose and clarity. Here’s more of Haley’s challenge to America on PragerU.

A Salvo For Civil Liberties

Liberty is declining and the COVID-19 shutdown is a perfect example. Take the Draconian measures Gov. Gavin Newsom has imposed on the residents of the Golden State–lockdowns across the board and farcical stay-at-home measures.

Valiant Riverside, Calif., Sherriff Chad Bianca, one of a handful of California authorities who will defy the orders, put it succinctly. “The metrics used for closures are unbelievably faulty and are not representative of true numbers, and are disastrous for Riverside County.” He goes on to say Newsom’s edict is a direct attack on our civil liberties and freedom, and adds, “I believe that all jobs are essential to someone.”

Dennis Prager concurs and cites a case in point from the legendary 1969 Woodstock Festival in upstate New York. The rowdy “party” drew more than 100,000 people from across the planet right in the middle of the highly contagious Hong Kong Flu pandemic. The flu, which broke out in 1968 and lasted nearly two years, killed an estimated 1-4 million people worldwide. Yet, there was no social distancing, no masks, no shutdowns, no abuse of our civil rights. Unlike in today’s pandemic climate, why didn’t people get locked down then? “Because people believed in freedom,” Prager says. “It would have been unacceptable to Americans.” Hear more of his logic on PragerU.

Leaving California

As the cost of living increases and the quality of life decreases, people are fleeing California in droves. In the past 10 years, 5 million people have fled the Golden State, 600,000 of those to Texas. California is basically a mess. It once thrived with more than a dozen car plants and was the center of aerospace manufacturing, says billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk. Now, he says, “My companies (Tesla and SpaceX) are the last two left.”

Meanwhile, Texas and its conservative policies are booming. When you think of the Lone Star State, you think of oil and beef, but Texas has as many Fortune 500 companies based in the state as does California, including an incredibly robust, high-tech start-up sector. The divergent paths these two states have taken are the direct result of political choices they have made. PragerU’s Will Witt explains.

The Truth About Antifa

On today’s podcast, former Antifa activist and author of “Behind the Black Mask” Gabriel Nadales joins Will to share his story of joining Antifa and how he got out and began working in conservative politics. Plus Will Witt shares a story you don’t want to miss and takes your questions! More from Witt at PragerU.

Progressive Holiday Classics

In light of the tumultuous  and alleged results of our Presidential election, PragerU’s Will Witt  takes a comical peek of what could become a  more progressive holiday season. In this special edition of the lighter side of life, Witt parodies yuletide sounds of the season.

“It’s time to bring holiday songs into the 21st century by updating them with political correctness,” he jests. Witt says you’ll hear such classics as “White Privilege Christmas,” “The Little Looter Boy” and “I Saw Daddy Kissing Santa Claus.” And for our Latino friends, “Feliz Antifa.” The collection is available for three simple payments of $19.99. “But let’s be serious,” the sales ad points out, “if you don’t pay, we’re taking your money anyway.”

Tackling Stereotypes, Inclusivity

Dennis Prager discusses the barrage of propaganda that has substituted for real learning in public schools today, including lies about stereotypes, such as “all white people are racist,” or “there is no gender.”

It turns out, kids are being lied to about stereotypes being wrong. But what if they are true. Prager says the truth is not a left-wing value, but a conservative one as well, which circles back to the question: What if the stereotype is accurate? Prager explores this conundrum in his weekly “Fireside Chat” and discusses inclusivity, one of the false gods of our time.

How To Fix Healthcare

Simply stated, our healthcare system is messed up. Not just a little, it’s in a world of hurt. For instance, how can a simple blood test cost $30 at one lab and $300 at another across the street? The answer to this question could save billions, as well as make healthcare more accessible and affordable for everyone.

In another example, researchers recently compared prices amongst 53 hospitals for a standard heart procedure called a coronary artery bypass grafting, or CABG. Not only did they find a 10-fold difference in price for the same procedure across hospitals, ranging from $44,000 dollars to $448,000 dollars, but they also found no correlation between higher prices and better quality of care.  Other studies have shown there can be up to a 39-fold variation in price for a simple blood test across medical centers in the same metro area.

So the obvious punchline here is we have no idea how much we’re paying for healthcare services. Will Bruhn, co-founder of Restoring Medicine, says the key to escaping this chaos is price transparency. He explains in this episode of PragerU.

Religious Freedom Is Essential

It wasn’t an accident that the First Amendment to the Constitution is about religious liberty. This meant you could belong to whatever religious denomination you wished. You could believe in everything or nothing. But those freedoms are being slowly stripped away.

It seems like disputes between people of faith and government agencies are taking center stage every week, alleging that believers are violating the rights of non-believers. Or simply violating government edicts. The bare truth is, that when government comes for your freedom, they’re coming for all of your freedoms.

The Founders understood and this is why they were so insistent that religious liberty be in the Constitution. To them, freedom of liberty was tantamount to freedom of thought. Says Kelly Shackleford, president of First Liberty, “If you aren’t free to think as you wish, you can’t claim to be free. They were right. There is no example in history of a regime suppressing religious freedom and not suppressing other freedoms.” Here’s more with Shackleford on PragerU.

The End Of Women’s Sports

Selina Soule was one of the top five female high school sprinters in Connecticut, headed toward national laurels and perhaps a college scholarship in her future. But that all came crashing down when she and other females were forced to compete against biological boys, who call themselves transgender girls. Now, women aren’t just losing their races, they’re losing their chances to compete at all.

The two biological males in Connecticut went on to win 15 state championships in two years and, shockingly, their winning times would not have qualified them for the boys state meet. When Soule voiced concern about the fairness of the competition, the media and school officials called her a sore loser, telling her to “run harder.”

But facts are facts. The biological changes that males go through during puberty are significant, giving them a decided edge in speed and strength over females. “The reason we have girls sports in the first place,” says Soule, “is to give females with talent, hard work and dedication, and equal opportunity a chance to shine and be recognized.”

So, is this just another intrusion by the Left and their appetite for political correctness? As always, you be the judge. Here’s more with Soule on PragerU.
